Additives For Paper Coatings

ADDITIVES FOR PAPER COATINGS

Paper coatings include coatings for thermal paper, paper packaging, inkjet receptive paper coatings, and other specialty coatings for paper.  Paper coatings are typically applied via a curtain coating process, which offers specialty performance characteristics.

WATERBORNE

A waterborne coating is an environmentally friendly surface treatment that uses water as a solvent to disperse the resin used to make the coating or paint. Water comprises a minimum of 80% of the solvent used. Its aim is to make the coating or paint an easy-to-apply, eco-friendly product. Waterborne coatings are widely used due to their low VOC (volatile organic compounds) content.

Paper coating and converting impart special qualities to the paper surface to deliver a performance not exhibited by the uncoated base paper. In all cases additives and functional reagents are required to deliver an optimized paper surface and the required performance. AEOR offers additives that can assist in the preparation of the coating color, improve the coating process, and enhance the paper surface. The range of products available ensures that specific requirements, such as food contact authorisation, can be considered and satisfied in developing the optimal solution.
